Beautiful wine label, what about the Verdicchio wine?
Verdicchio is a fruity, Italian white wine. While these wines are usually still, some Verdicchios are sparkling. Flavors include citrus fruits and almonds. Suggested food pairings include Pasta with Garlic and Oil, Risotto with Vegetables, and Fish from the nearby Adriatic Sea.
Verdicchio wine usually starts at about $10. Spend about $15 on the Zaccagnini Verdicchio "Salmagina" for a complex wine tasting of honey, butter, lemon, and minerals. In the $18 range you might want to try the perfumed, very fruity Villa Bucci Verdicchio Classico dei Castelli di Jesi DOC. The best Verdicchios are said to come from Bisci Verdicchio di Matelica. Look for them.
