Venison calls for the right wine pairing.
Venison may be eaten as steaks, roasts, sausages, Jerky and ground meat. It tastes like beef, but is considerably leaner and lower in calories and cholesterol. You may have to add fat to venison burgers to make them cook like hamburgers. Watch out for the deer equivalent of mad-cow disease.
In addition to the wines mentioned in our food pairing table you might consider a Petit Syrah or a Pinot Noir.
