Cod is moist and flaky when cooked and is white. It is a a popular food fish with a mild flavor and low fat content. Atlantic cod is often found in fish and chips. Cod is very popular in Portugal and the Basque Country. Once there were so many Cod that supposedly people could simply grab them from the water. Now Cod is an endangered species. You might want to try salted, dried cod which is popular in many European countries.
