This J list is as short as it gets. There is only one entry, Jurançon made in two styles, dry and sweet in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques resion of Southwestern France. I remember a wine tasting several years ago when I tried the sweet variety. I did everything but jump up and down. The next year's vintage was so-so. A friend from a nearby region of France wasn't surprised; he told me the climactic conditions in that area vary greatly from year to year. We plan to do a review of a sweet Jurançon. Because it's a sweet wine, it may take a while to finish the bottle.
Here we make food pairing suggestions for the very short list of wines whose names start with the letter J.The following table presents wine and food pairing information for the Jurançon wine. The food suggestions are in alphabetical order.
|Jurançon, dry||Trout, Salmon|
|Jurançon, sweet||Foie Gras, Roquefort Cheese|
