This J list is as short as it gets. There is only one entry, Jurançon made in two styles, dry and sweet in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques resion of Southwestern France. I remember a wine tasting several years ago when I tried the sweet variety. I did everything but jump up and down. The next year's vintage was so-so. A friend from a nearby region of France wasn't surprised; he told me the climactic conditions in that area vary greatly from year to year. We plan to do a review of a sweet Jurançon. Because it's a sweet wine, it may take a while to finish the bottle.
Here we make food pairing suggestions for the very short list of wines whose names start with the letter J.
| Wine | Recommended Food | |
|---|---|---|
| Jurançon, dry | Trout, Salmon | |
| Jurançon, sweet | Foie Gras, Roquefort Cheese |
