Jurançon
Jurançon is a sweet or dry white wine made in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of
southwestern France. It is made from minor grape varieties such as Petit Manseng and
Gros Manseng and can age for up to twenty years. However, I defy you to keep the bottle
that long. I found that a 2003 vintage, no longer on sale was an excellent combination
of acidity and sweetness, surpassing far more expensive competitors.
Suggested food pairings include desserts, Foie Gras, and Roquefort Cheese.
