Madiran
Madiran AOC wines come from southwest France. These tannic, meaty red wines contain at least 40% Tannat as well as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the local Fer grape. They may be cellared for 5 to 15 years.

Marcillac
Marcillac AOC wines come from southwest France. The reds are rough when young but soften with age. They contain a minimum of 90% Fer, the remainder may be Cabernet Franc,Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. They may be cellared for 3 to 6 years. The full-bodied rosés use the same grapes as their red cousins. They may be cellared for 1 to 3 years.

Maury
Maury AOC wines are fortified wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southeastern France. They may be red, white, rosé, or tawny and have a wide range of flavors. They are made from a minimum of 75% Grenache plus a wide range of other, mostly local, grapes. They may be cellared for 10 to 30 years.


Menetou-Salon
Menetou-Salon AOC wines come from the Central Vineyards area in the Loire Valley region of central France. These dry, crisp, fruity reds are made from the Pinot Noir grape and may be cellared for 2 to 5 years. The dry whites are made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape and may be cellared for 1 to 2 years. The fruity, dry rosés are made from Pinot Noir grapes and should be consumed within a year of purchase.

Minervois
Minervois AOC wines come from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southeastern France. They may be red, white, or rosé and are made from Grenache (Grenache Blanc for the whites) and a variety of mostly local grapes. Quality varies. The reds may be cellared for 1 to 5 years. The rare whites and the rosés should be consumed within a year of purchase.

Minervois La Livinière
Minervois La Livinière AOC wines come from limestone cliffs in a well-delimited area in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southeastern France. These red wines are made from the same grapes as their shorter-named cousins. They may be cellared for 2 to 10 years.

Monbazillac
Monbazillac AOC wines come from the wine region of southwest France. These intensely sweet white wines have been around for over one thousand years. They are made from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes and may be cellared for 7 to 20 years.

Montlouis-sur-Loire
Montlouis-sur-Loire AOC wines come from the Touraine sector in the Loire Valley region of central France. These fine, often underrated white wines may be dry or sweet. They are made from Chenin Blanc grape. The medium drys may be cellared for 1 to 3 years, while the sweet ones may be cellared for a maximum of 10 years.

Montlouis-sur-Loire Mousseux AOC wines come from the Touraine sector in the Loire Valley region of central France. These light- to medium-bodied sparkling white wines run the full range of sweetness in sunny years. They are made from Chenin Blanc grape and should not be cellared.

Montlouis-sur-Loire Pétillant
Montlouis-sur-Loire Pétillant AOC wines come from the Touraine sector in the Loire Valley region of central France. These light- to medium-bodied semi-sparkling white wines are dry or sweet. They are made from Chenin Blanc grape and should not be cellared.

Montravel
Montravel AOC wines come from the wine region of southwest France. The reds are made from a minimum of 50% and several international red grapes. The dry, crisp whites are made from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and perhaps Muscadelle grape. Cellar the reds for 2-8 years and the whites for 1-2 years.

Morgon
Morgon AOC wines come from the Beaujolais wine region of northeastern France. This red Cru Beaujolais is known for its compact fruit. Go for the Morgons in the Mont du Py area in the center of Morgon. You may cellar this wine for 4 to 9 years; 6 to 20 years in the case of the best vintages.
